Craig Pawson proving, yet again, that all physical contact will become removed from the game because every challenge seems to be deemed as dangerous!
He has managed to send a player off for the second week in succession for fouls that were cautionable, yes, but dismissals?
He managed to book Matt Ritchie in the first half for damaging a Cardiff player when, in fact, Ritchie was caught between tow Cardiff players and it was the Cardiff player who injured his own player.
The game I once loved so much is becoming a real joke, however, it would appear it is what the modern fan wants so see.
How long before they ban heading the ball?
Yes Sub, but can the FA see it, and do they care ?
Alto --the directives are coming from the FA, at the behest of FIFA because it is worldwide. The game is losing its appeal as far as I am concerned and the introduction of VAR will accelerate the process.
I long for the good old days when a player could tackle, the officials made decisions without even worrying about it and, in the main, the players accepted this and there was no big witch hunt in the media.
I saw a Birmingham player penalised last night when he won a tackle fair and square but his opponent ended up on the deck!
Kenedy, who blatantly kicked an opponent earlier and should not have been on the pitch, misses a penalty for a handball which was possibly outside the area and it all ends up as 0-0 and the main talking points revolve around the referee!
I know, for the last few years we have been talking about wrong decisions by Refs, not reading from the same page etc etc, when we talk about that and not the actual game its shows where the game is actually going
