    To be expected.

It’s still only 0.75% compared to the 18% I remember from back in the 80’s.

    Nothing to see here.

The press are making my blood boil giving examples of how people will be challenged with the rise.
Burdened with high interest on my endowment mortgage for over 22 years
8 years before it was due to mature I was informed it would not full cover the full payment – it fell short.
3 Years before it was due to mature the interest rates crashed. The worst possible time.
My small pension went down toilet.
My shares went down the toilet
And I get a pittance from my savings
It’s now been 11 years since these low rate, unprecedented in our time
Golden generation – well it missed me out !
I hope it goes to 15%

    Anybody b I t c h I n g about a 0.25% interest rate and how it’s going to be a “real issue” needs a kick in the crotch.

Drink two pints a week less and make your own packed lunch FFS.

Back in the early 1990's a mate who was a 'financial expert but very down to earth' persuaded me to
    a) don 't take out an Endowment Mortgage
    b) invest in property not pensions

    God bless his cotton socks.

Don't quite understand why wishing 15% on the kids of today with a mortgage makes you feel any better. Aren't they just following the dream as you did?
