He is wheeling out ‘luck’ as a possible reason for not winning the league after one league match gone!

The weird thing is I think any manager would say you need an element of luck at times to win a league.

Scoring more goals than the opposition in the majority of your matches will win the league.!

Of course they haven't however there have been many titles won through time where a bit of luck in a few matches made the difference. The first one that springs to mind is Gerrard's slip against Chelsea a few years ago.

Lets take May the 14th 1983 as a prime example,United needed to win at Dens and Celtic needed to win at Ibrox,at halftime it was all done and dusted as we led 2-1 and they were losing 2-0 however as luck would have it they ended up winning 4-2 but luck was on our side as 25000 Arabs went mental in Dens as we luckily held on to our 2-1 lead.FACT with a WASC thrown in for that lucky measure.

Dundee hit the post in the second half . If it went in and finished 2-2 united and Celtic would have finished the season tied same points exactly the same goal for and against .It would have been the first play off since around 18 oatcake . As there would have been no other way to separate them

But it didn't finish 2-2 did it? And we did it, and we did it at DENS.

Which even now, 35 years later and with us in our current predicament, tortures you to phuck.

    Highly pleasing.
