    Ben Stokes

Doesn’t sound very good for him equalities or violence wise.

He gets hit with a bottle and a broken road sign and is expected not to retaliate? When you are being attacked the Queensbury Rules do not apply!

After reading the article I am not feeling as charitable as you are towards him BT.

Let's see how the rest of the case goes, eh?

Not looking good for him though.

Pissed up Apaches on a night out are not generally hell bent on adhering to regular social conduct 1959-60. Half a dozen of one and half a dozen of the other is what it looks like to me. I can't imagine a cricket loving judge (MCC member probably?) is going to incarcerate an English Test cricketer!

    It’s possible

A person guilty of affray is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or a fine or both, or on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or both.

He’s not found guilty yet though and it took them a long time to decide to prosecute, so there’s probably another side to the story.

In the witness box now, one defendant freed, he seems to be in difficulty.

When Stokes was arrested it sounded as though he was defending a gay fella, which IMO seemed justified.

I have not followed the story these past few days only hearing the occasional snippet, and what I've heard does not look good for Stokes.

The on-site policewoman has put the knife in! I find it hard to understand why highly paid professional athletes behave like a lager lout from a Wythenshawe housing estate. Shameless!
