Glad you brought that up. My post has no connection with race or religion, but lots of people have stirred that up on this thread which goes to show that people do want to discuss, race, religion etc.

As I pointed out on another thread my posts are extremely popular, more often than not they have 60 replies or more.

The people enjoy talking about these issues despite the fact that they moan about it.

Some of the leftwing dumbos ( I distinguish these from the thinking Socialists on the site who I respect ) complain about my threads yet they contribute to each one of my threads more than a half a dozen times.

Now ask yourself this: if you told me you did not like pizza but everyday for the past few years I caught you stuffing your face with it, it would be reasonable to assume that the person liked pizza and that their protests about pizza were just hot air..

My, how like Monty you suddenly sound! :-)

I have to give it to you, you're very good. You always post items that in themselves have no obvious racial suggestion but always lead some of our more 'enthusiastic' posters on the subject to seize on them and 'express themselves' merrily. And of course you justify this above by rather moronically saying that "people do want to discuss race, religion etc" oblivious to the fact that it is the same handful only of posters that seize upon your posts and make the same obsessive posts over and over again. You and they are a small but obsessive minority, easy to see through for anyone that knows infowars etc. You are welcome to your political opinions, and I welcome some political topics that can be debated on here when new debates arise. But God man, you're so obsessive and it makes us Millers fans look like pricks. Unlike others that see you as a simple WUM, I can see your real obsession and it's as pretty as Steve Bannon's fat chops...

Unfortunately though Pup, race/origin does have a role to play in the decline of the town centre. I still live in Rotherham and I have heard the excuse hundreds of times for why people don't visit it anymore be it night or day.

Also, you have continued to make this thread about race.

A strong plan combining strategy that incorporates the above will work, at the moment Rotherham will have a few days a year that will be classified as busy, the annual show, every home game and the beer festival. Sheffield is busy all summer as there are better F&B offerings and more entertainment.

    What we lack:-

No cinemas - the council have spent £32,000 on consultants who on 4 occasions told them this was a major priority, 10 years later no cinema
No theatre - the civic needs knocking down
No major F&B chains - these normally come when you have the above in place
No major event planning - we have Clifton park but all we get is a show every year and four deckchairs and a bucket of sand.
No major hotel chains - see all of the above
Gm. Completely agree with you. If you read my first post, without going into detail, I said the same.

Many cities have evolved from the industrial decline and mass unemployment of the early 80s. Look at Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield as examples. But it took time. Sheffield started its redevelpment in the late 80s. The World Student Games was a catylist for change. All these Cities really embrace the universities.

Rotherham is behind the curve compared them but ahead of others. The Renaissance project startrd mid 90s. The University campus could have a big impact on bringing numbers in to town on a daily basis and may encourage a few bars, sandwich shops, coffee shops and restuarants to open.

I agree with there being room for such a discussion Sharky. But does that mean we should be invited to run over the same discussion time and again by IBS on a footy message board, leading inevitably to inflammatory language as used and removed in this thread?

It seems its the same people with the petrol cans who inflame the fire, being a moral guardian is one thing but its another to keep churning out the same replies

You are one of the people who are keeping the thread going. Your post above even asks a question therefore it looks like you want the thread to continue even more as I am guessing you want a reply.

I think the town centre discussion is quite relevant for an off topic issue on the Rotherham Utd message board. By the way I didn't see the post that got removed.

That was a rhetorical question Sharkey. My only input to this thread was to correct the person accusing WanChai of introducing the race issue into the thread.
