Goals from today

Posted this on the match thread, but in case it's missed:

Just seen the goals on Skysports:

1st - Superb finish from Enzio, a goal out of nothing.
2nd - What the f*ck are you doing Brisley, that was your ball all day long.
3rd - Brisley asleep at the free kick, Fitzsimons beaten far too easily from a tight angle.
4th - Their keeper flaps, Duffy takes full advantage.
5th - Jones and Brisley make token jumps, their player just wants it more.

To sum up, our goals came from a brilliant finish and a goalkeeping error, all three of theirs were through our poor defending.

We'll be lucky to get mid table with that defence and goal keeper combination. Absolutely awful, they have no excuses either, can't say they haven't gelled, they all were playing last year together

First Cambridge goal. Long ball from Cambridge and no tackle or nothing just allowed to get a shot in. The Cambridge player did not even beat our defender for pace and get in front of him. A shambles and powder puff defending. Compare that Cambridge goal to Enzios goal which was a class proper match winning goal.

Second Cambridge goal. A free kick in the Cambridge half. Three passes by them and we had four chances to win the ball but we backed off or were off the pace. What was that attempt by our player at a tackle in the box? Completely mistimed and let the player free in to score albeit someone was coming who could have cleared if off the line but did nothing. Another feeble attempt at defending in our own half.

Cambridge third goal. Similar to our second from a corner so they both cancel each other out.

Basically looking at those goals I feel we should have won that 2-1 as two of those Cambridge goals were gifts. Enzios goal was worthy of a match winner. Disappointed.

That’s fine as long as they go through what went wrong today, learn from it, practice what they are going to do different in training and implement it next Friday evening.

We’ve had one clean sheet from our first two games so that should be the aim on Friday.

I thought there were certain no-brainers that pretty much had a consensus on here

1) Hall to play 2) Stead to sit 3) improvement in style after recruiting early and having all pre-season to work on formation, pattern of play etc

These are bigger disappointments to me than the two results.

Brisley at fault for all three, Duffy also useless for the second. We have two very poor centre backs and simple will not get promoted without replacing them. Duffy was a massive weakness last season and should have been sorted in the summer. It's like Hollis problem all over again, why don't our managers ever notice what's wrong with the team?

Christ! Those are unbelievable.

Brisley??? Such a terrible time to gift a goal, 1 up at half time and the key is to shut them out for 15-20 mins, not give them a leg up.

Thought Fitz should do better on all 3.
