Once heard Peter Snape answer a planted question on the restoration of the death penalty at a public meeting. He was quite clear that he didn't want a Labour Home Secretary having to sign a person's life away. Lost faith in Labour straightaway that night as there has been no effective deterrent since. Politicians remain silent each time a timid, defenceless baby has been murdered. If DNA is now good enough to see you end up in jail for a long time, it should also be good enough to see murderers' heads within a noose.
