Oops...a touch of the homophobics from Parky there. He always was a tad macho.

Does all seem bizarre from what we know but we are going off topic on an already O/T.
Should Stokes take Curran’s place was the original question...absolutely not imo. Good to see youngsters being picked at last and to drop him after such a good start would be very discouraging.

All a bit like Brexit. Why can''t anyone accept a decision. He went to court and they gathered all information possible and all was put in front of a judge and Jury, after all the evidence was received he was proven innocent, some might not agree but accept the decision.
The laws an ass but that's the the way the system works and the reason hanging won't come back.

Also Stokes coming back was nailed on, he's a brilliant and experienced cricketer, whoever picks the team will pencil in Stokes as they will always pick the strongest team possible! Accept the decision.

Saying that Sam has looked good!

In this case, as in others, it's not a black and white situation. He was found not guilty of the charge of affray. If he had been charged with assault, it would have been dependent on who started it. If the other(s) threw the first punch then could could reasonably plead self defence. Drunk and disorderly would almost certainly have resulted in a guilty verdict.

So, not guilty of affray but also far from innocent. However, he has been tried and acquitted. Should the cricketing authorities place themselves above the Law and issue disciplinary proceedings? That is a question that will split the views. Mine? Bringing the game into disrepute would be a valid "charge". Provided, of course, Cricket has that charge in its statutes.
