Exactly, Brexit would be great for football and the Remainers are only highlighting this.

Brexit or no Brexit it’s already in our powers to refuse work visas for footballers born outside the EU.

All the Africans, all of the South Americans and assorted non EU europeans could be blocked. Wouldn’t that help the born in the UK footballers?

just think instead of signing a foreign player they would have to give that young lad from the United kingdom a start.

Blocking non EU players already happens to an extent across all our sports. In football they players need to have played a certain number of international games and in cricket they need to have played first class. An amatuer Aussie cricketer cant go to the UK to play as a club pro anymore.

This is the paradox. Brexit promises we will go global. In football we have a global industry, massively successful, huge in Asia and helpful to promote the country worldwide that we want to take local. The quid pro quo to global international trade will include movement of people (both China and India have said as much). Not sure the desire to block immigration will work with signing global trade deals. But we will see.

Irrelevant, as brexit will not be allowed to happen. Even if overseas players were limited, clubs would goback to Scottish and Irish domination.

There was never a "Scottish and Irish domination" although Liverpool had some success with a fair number of them.

But the talent isn't there anymore anyway.

Wont Republic of Ireland players be considered foreign?
