Think “gardening leave” / immediate temp replacement- get the idea ?
... does anyone have any background knowledge which lead to this appointment? To what extent is this an AH appointment based on our relationship with Ilky - if so, nothing more likely to unsettled the entire squad/management team, IMO.

... so between them, Nolan, Thomas and Crossley don't have enough coaching experience and won't admit they have cr4p defenders - Toots apart - so now introduce a new face to work with the sows ears, ie., the cheat Duffer, the disappointing Bris and the non-full back with the silly hair do. What's so complicated about being first to the ball and stopping a cross?
cjpieman may be right?
... so KN and RT are using today to update their CV's and practicing convincing answers to awkward questions ...? Will AH use the long-time tried and tested communication approach of sacking by phone on Sunday?
Can't understand why Chettle was appointed other than he is another ex Red mate of Hardy and Fletcher. He has the motivational skills of a dead haddock, which obviously rallied the troops last night.
Yes strange appointment unless A H thinks he can learn something from Nolan hope its just coincidental it came before the worst performance at home for awhile.
Chetts didn't do much last night, apart from from what Mike Edwards did with the defenders.
Well that seems to be working well. He's having a major impact.
Yesterday's AH Tweet re Chettle - a bit cryptic on so many levels:

Yes congratulations but as an Ilkeston Town supporter, such a shame as the club with Chettle was going places, hopefully @Bigalanh5 has a succession plan in place for a similar talented manager
