There's no need for a new national stadium to cost £150-600m.

I think the suits fundamentally misunderstand what the average punter wants and what makes some stadiums great.

I doubt anyone wants our own version of Wembley's ridiculous comfort and airport type concourses.

Give me a 50,000 seater version of Tynecastle, in Perth, no frills.

Thinking back to the Hampden refurbs of the 90s.....

Am I right in saying that at the east terracing, which previously had no roof, they basically put in proper terracing with seats, and put a roof on? But there was no total rebuild, bulldozzers knocking down the old stand etc etc.

And more or less the same at the west stand, other than removing and replacing the old roof, they did as per above?

Is that why the ends weren't brought in at that time?

What a complete waste of dough. Partly lottery funded as well.

And given that it was relatively recently, and that the SFA have no dosh due to years of non qualifications, there is zero chance of any work being done on the old f.ucker anytime soon.

I'm sure mine was included amongst the rest.

Overflow from the bogs, or in could well have been Murdo McLeod.

They had previously reduced the size of the Catholic end.

Believe me, you were a long way away from the pitch when you stood there.

Have to agree. I was in the main stand if same game. Night time and hosing it down. McLair score the winner for the jungle jims.

We played them off the park in the replay at Parkhead. I think Joe Miller hit the post for us in extra time.

I came out of Dens and realised, that for the first time since 1981, we were about to finish a season trophyless.

Where are they going to find the significant funds required to 'redevelop' Hampden, or the sponsorship.
    It's not going to happen.

Meadowbank Stadium / Livingston springs to mind for some reason.

If we can find the funds...then so can the SFA. There was already a significant gift from two of the richest people in Scotland.
