    Youth team away at Colchester

The Under 18s travelled to Colchester today for their second league game of the season. After going a goal behind after 35 minutes we equalised right on half time through Michael Fowler. We took the lead through our second half substitute Rhys Fenlonand ran out winners 2-1 making that two wins in two matches. Well done lads.

The last time I went to Colchester was 1 September 2007 when we beat them 3-2 with goals from Alan Mahon and Andy Gray 2. I was down at one of my sons in East Dulwich and travelled across from there and came home more than happy!
I think that driving from here today was just a bit too much for a youth match, although, back in the day............

My son lived in Underhill Road for quite a few years but he moved to Sheffield which is where his wife, a GP, did her training, although she comes from Rayners Lane!

The last and only time I've been to Colchester Ian Wright was playing for us, and Mitchel Thomas was playing centre-half and teaching Graham Branch how to play full-back at the same time, without much success. After the game Wrighty claimed the Colchester fans had racially abused him, well maybe they had, but I never heard anything.

I remember that game sinkov. I think we won 1-0? When Wrighty came on as a substitute, I distinctly remember the Colchester fans applauding him! Funny old thing is the memory!
