Well done Motherwell for what was a hugely important victory today and of course progression to the next round. I thought we started poorly and the signs didn't look good but we slowly took a grip of the game and deserved to go in 1-0 ahead at HT. In truth that game could have finished 4-4 or something crazy like that but we held firm and in the end deserved our win.

Danny Johnson has proved that he needs to start ahead of either one of Main or Sammon and it was pleasing to see him both start today and score.

Hopefully the QF draw is kind to us...Ayr at home will do but you just know it'll be Hearts or Aberdeen.

They would never score four goals...even one was a push, Livingston are one of the most limited top flight teams I can ever remember.

Plenty positives for us - much better first half, more (attempted) football, chances made, clean sheet. Second half was very patchy but arguably understandable in circumstances.

Still plenty of work to be done but this was a good win. Very good actually because given how we budget, we can't really lose in the draw tomorrow now.

That about sums it up. We won through without really exerting ourselves. The match was won by half time and deep down both teams knew it. In the second half we just sat in and invited Livingston to have a real go at us. The pitch was awful though it has to be said and the SPFL really need to have a look at these artificial surfaces. A clean sheet too.

On our budget, which must be significantly below even that of St Johnstone's, we've done well so far but we can still progress, if the draw is kind...I'm not holding my breath about that. If Stephen Robinson had Tommy Wright's budget he'd think he was in 7th heaven.

Either 1-0 Livi or 1-1 with them winning on penalties and Kenny Miller getting his regulation goal against us as we turn in another dismal display on the plastic.

So what? Why does it bother you so much?

I see yet again you make no comments about the game itself, just an anonymous internet forum poster ..
