Steve Martin is a director of FPS and as such would surely speak on behalf of FPS?

I have always been under the impression that part of the FPS proposal to take a majority shareholding was that they intended to buy back Dens. Sure there was a newspaper report where Nelms outlined their plans and this was part of their approach.

Things have changed and they have a new plan involving a new stadium. This type of thing happens all the time in business. Going back and trying to paint FPS as the bad guys doesn't seem to me to be helpful.

I am more worried that once the new stadium is built United will be offered the opportunity to ground share and the next step will be to merge the two clubs. Most supporters of both clubs would say ‘no way’ but if the shareholders of The Dundee Football Club Limited and the Dundee United Football Company Limited are in favour then in my opinion the merger will happen.
Now is the time for John Nelms representing FPS to make a statement confirming that FPS the majority shareholders at The Dundee Football Club Limited have no plans to try to merge Dundee and Dundee United into one club with the new team playing at the new stadium at the former NCR grounds.
