Sure Shabba was treating it as a pre season match so the result doesna matter.

The players that should have been playing are the ones on the fringes of the first team, first team players coming back from injury and the best of the youngsters. Instead we play really young kids without the senior players, just reminds me of the first team of a few years back: Szromnik, Donaldson.................. that turned oot well.

United are in some state imo.

When new coaches come in at youth level it can be some time before the results of their work start to show through. It might be while before we can judge, early results like this are not something to get too negative about, although it seems that some posters feel unwell unless they can see some negativity to cling to.

Gonna have to give Easton and Robertson a chance as the club have disposed of a huge number of players that should have been the mainstay of the reserves this season. Obviously they were not good enough, which leaves a bunch of lads who might need a year or 2 to make the reserves, never mind be ready to break into the first team.

Yeah. Work in progress. I'm confident we have the right people there, just needs a bit of time and patience

What I want is the players that aren't featuring in the first team who are on the fringes to keep their match fitness ticking over. So according to our manager he is not going to do that so when these players are getting in the first team they'll be breathing oot their arses just like when we "participated" in the Legaue Cup.

My comments weren't a defence of Csaba's policy, if what your saying is correct about that. It was a defence of the new coaches who can only pick the players they're allowed to. It might explain why young guys got beat so heavily if they were playing a St Mirren lineup that included their first team fringe players when we didn't.

Of course the reserve games should be used for fringe players 90 minute fitness, returns from injury, etc etc, I completely agree.
