Burnley couple die mysteriously in Egypt

Thomas Cook has removed all its customers from a hotel in Egypt where one of its employees 'died of grief' - hours after her husband was killed by a heart attack on a 'trip of a lifetime' holiday.

Susan Cooper, 63, and her husband John Cooper, 69, were on a Thomas Cook holiday at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic hotel in the Red Sea resort town of Hurghada.

Mr Cooper, who ran his own building company in their hometown of Burnley, Lancashire had a heart attack and was rushed to hospital where he died on Tuesday.

Mrs Cooper, a long-serving Thomas Cook employee, died 'of grief' just hours later, said Dr Maged Eledawy, the head of Hurghada Hospital.

Suspicious I think given T Cooks actions

The Egyptians are already closing ranks. Something awful went on here. Deepest condolences to the couple's family and friends.

Yes, you can’t die of grief. There needs to be an autopsy ideally here.
T Cook also need to justify their actions as they must know something to do that.

    T Cook

Thomas Cook is removing all its customers from a hotel in Egypt after the death of a British couple.
John Cooper, 69, and his wife Susan, 63, from Burnley, Lancashire, died at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
The company said the circumstances of their deaths were unclear and it had received "further reports of a raised level of illness among guests".
Its customers will be offered other accommodation or flights home.

Their daughter was with them and also felt unwell

One friend told The Sun they suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. 'No one can be sure until the post mortem,' they said.

'Some people have heard that Kelly felt unwell and went for a walk. When she came back her parents were dead.'

Several past guests of the hotel have said online that they have fallen ill since staying there and say the standards are poor at the resort.

The governor says the air conditioner is a central unit and the husband clearly had a heart attack so no autopsy!

Now it’s heart failure for them both hmmmm

A British couple who died on holiday in Egypt suffered heart and respiratory failure, local authorities have said.
John Cooper, 69, and his wife Susan, 63, from Burnley, were staying at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
The couple's daughter, who was also staying at the hotel, said she believed their deaths were suspicious.
The Red Sea governorate said medical checks by a health inspector revealed "no criminal suspicions".

Cooks have previous with deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning so no wonder they pulled the plug. Others report feeling ill there.

There are several countries which, try as I might, Mrs S flatly refuses to visit, Egypt is one of them. She's in 'told you so' mood now. The 1% chance of a Nile cruise is now reduced to 0%.

Totally agree with Mrs S, if our planet has an arsehole Egypt would be an ideal candidate.
