    just 50 odd miles away---

A cousin of Manchester City owner Sheik Mansour failed with a record £2bn takeover bid for Liverpool this year.

Open Letter to Sheik Mansour's cousin

Dear Cousin of Sheik Mansour (the one with the money to spend on English football clubs)

May I interest you in a proud EPL football club that was one of the founder members of the Football League.

They have won numerous trophies along the way (can provide more details if required).

The team is Burnley FC -just 50 odd miles from Liverpool.

True, you have to go past Blackburn to get here from there but its only a short pain and soon over.

Only some of the fans are hostile to the idea of an outsider taking over.

Provided you can assure us that you are not too fused on how your 2B ponds is spent and providing you do not have another manager in mind and providing your only focus is to beat your uncle's Man City club--than you are assured of a good (if not enthusiastic) welcome.

We do it our way over here and you are invited to enjoy some of the best hospitality and humour England can offer.

A bit self effacing and a bit blunt but very very passionate about our club.

Keep everything real and honest and you won't find a better club to invest in.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Blueheeler1 (ps I have no authority whatsoever but will buy you a beer when you are next in Aussie)

No airport to park the private jet so they wouldn't be interested, if only they had built an airport in Padiham.

They could always use Bacup International Airport.

    Not too far?
