Best he can do is promote Vaughan to Captain allowing Duffy to concentrate on doing his job at CB and try to get a bit of strength in the middle along side Vaughan. Perhaps put Kellet to the left side and Hewitt to the right side (assuming Toots is fit) of Vaughan.

Crawford, the most similar player we have to Yates who could pair up with Hewitt. He's looked decent whenever he's played so far this season.
