Rangers reportLast gasp Hartley earns Motherwell a point against Rangers

Motherwell showed many of last season's best qualities and matched Rangers to earn the first point of the season. Goals from Johnson, McHugh and a last minute equaliser from Hartley pave the way to a 3-3 draw. - External Link

Had we lost that game it would have been a travesty and utter daylight robbery from their part as they offered nothing second half except time wasting and we missed numerous chances.

As the seconds ticked down it was looking like yet another frustrating yet standard Motherwell v Rangers game where every break of the ball falls their way and we end up with nothing, so how sweet that we should equalise in the last seconds and earn a deserved draw?

We've obviously still got a lot of work to do, especially defensively and Robinson subbing Johnson off for Sammon was the wrong move imo but a defeat today would have felt pretty demoralising so all the more important that we snatched that point at the death. Hopefully that is our springboard to kick on this season, starting with a win at Dens Park next week.

Big day...crucial getting a deserved first point but even had we lost we could have breathed a bit easier having looked a bit more like our old selves. Plenty of fight and finally chances to go with it. The defence is still concerning and Carson seems to be a little off top form - but this shows we have a path to 'success' at least.

Next week is absolutely massive though. We dug out a must-win at Livi, improved a lot today but lose to a so-far horrible Dundee and a lot of that work is undone and we're under massive doubt again. A victory would considerably ease the path into the international break mind - you could even argue that four points from the first four games, given they include Easter Road and Rangers at home, is a par return.

A deserved draw but we possibly did enough for all three. Probably the best we've played all season and resilience and durability earned us the point. In the first half we sat back too deep at times and poor defending was our undoing. Second half we turned the screw on Rangers and it was great to see Hartley score in the dying seconds. The 4th Official will get it in the neck for adding on 3 minutes and not 2.

First point on the board. Happy days.

The time added in was absolutely correct given their ridiculous time wasting during the entire second half. Every sub taking an eternity to leave the field, their keeper moaning about non existent fouls, Lafferty rolling about with 'cramp' in the last minute and finally them making a substitution in the 3rd minute of injury time just to eat up the clock some more.

All I've heard over the last couple of weeks is of how this Rangers side are much improved, a different prospect this season, contenders for the league title and so on. Yet from what I saw of them today I was not impressed with them one bit. They were a side desperately trying to cling onto a narrow lead which they gained from two massive deflections and resorted to time wasting tactics for an entire second half. Justice was well and truly served to them when we got that last gasp leveller.

Absolutely spot-on LSM their time wasting tactics for the entire 2nd half was embarrassing and an indication of a team lacking in self belief and lacking in ability to to go on an finish us off with a fourth goal. Well done to The team showed a great fighting spirit in the 2nd half. Got to build on this and produce a result at Dens next week. Another point big ****hoose Laff surely is not getting the credit for their first goal....it was going past the far post until it took the deflection ffs.

Think the effort put in by the players in the second half a point was the least we deserved. I wonder if I was the only one that noticed that every time we got a free kick the so called referee Thomson stood immediately in front of the ball, preventing us from taking a quick free kick and also allowing Rangers players to get back into position. Something he never did when they got a free kick,he also allowed them to steal yards and free kicks and throw ins

If that's the newest version of The New Rangers then I ain't impressed. As for the gamesmanship, falling over at every opportunity and constant bickering at that fud of a ref thank fuukk we rammed it right round them in 90+3 mins. I really don't know what else Thompson could've done to get the scummy ba5tards over the line.

Certainly they took gamesmanship to a new level. Timewasting, blocking quick free kicks, stealing yards at set pieces, but worst of all diving. Morelos and Lafferty were very guilty of that. Much of it took place right in front of Mr Gerrard. He needs to stamp it out unless of course he condones it.
