Someone with experience of promotion, in the interview they can also identify players they will bring in to improve the defence (ie they've taken the time to research our problems and find a solution) If they were serious applicants they'll have watched all our games over the last 48 hours to prepare
The best managers, have the ability to manage the players, they knows their strengths and weaknesses (not just on the pitch) and use that knowledge to get the best from them. The best managers are in fact 'people-managers' and this applies in all walks of life, good teachers interact well with their pupils - good bosses work well with employees etc. Too many times has Nolan 'punished' the players after a poor result by cancelling days off etc, this is not the way to manage people and if you don't manage them you lose them!. Bullying does not work in the workplace neither does it work with footballers. How often have we heard players say "I'd have run through a brick wall for him" often referring to the likes of Shankly, Clough and Warnock etc.

If he's a mate of the Chairman's, fancies the club psychologist, loves a bevvy with Enerver, has Fletcher clutching his shirt tails he should fit the bill nicely.
Forget strategy, we have NONE.
So your saying Cloughie didn't rule by fear? He did and players still ran through brick walls for him because they were players who had some bollox.
