What is more embarrassing is safc fans saying short never spends, he had a higher net spend than ashley did in the prem, and considering we sold alot more players than u for profit just goes to show.

DELUDED FANS U LOT ARE, ENJOY YOUR 6 IN A ROW U MACKEM C*NT, U HAVE FINALLY STARTED WINNING SEEING AS YOUR CLUB HAS FOUND ITS LEVEL. LEAGUE 1!!!!
haven't we just been talking on the other thread about name calling and personal abuse.

it doesn't matter who it is aimed at or from who ... it is unacceptable

please can all posters take this on board and do not resort to personal attacks of any kind on anyone.

the board would be a far better place to be for everyone if we can all adhere to this rule.

so far we are sticking to warnings to make sure everyone gets the message, but bannings will follow as sure as night follows day if it doesn't stop.

Newcastle United have real fans. You can't be anything else because nobody is bandwagon jumping in terms of success hunters.
When you fill out a stadium under the way we perform and win nothing of honours, then you're as real as they come.

However, if this club ever gets in an owner who bankrolls it to such a degree where we have players earning 100/150/200/250 grand a week and we started to sit and flirt around the top 4 spots, you find that the genuine fans get edged out of the better seats to cater for the prawn sandwich brigade...or to put it more simpler....the success bandwagon crowd, leaving the real fans having to fork out a hefty sum for the less glamorous seats/areas.

This is when expectation rears it's ugly head when 5th is deemed failure, then 4th is deemed not trying if champions league qualification is quickly snuffed out early doors.

Basically the plastics demand more and more up high.... very high.... and will settle for nothing less than those highs and yet even flirting around them you would find the ground would not be full over time.

Once you're given steak and lobster meals with the trimmings, you're going to be hard pushed to accept gruel like most clubs have to accept due to the elites taking over the trophy hunting spots and the (almost) guarantee of success between them.

It would be nice to see Man City type football but if we all want it we cannot go and call other clubs plastic..and if we don't simply want that as a rule and just want decent football with decent spends, then we literally do have that...it's just finding a manager to actually implement it so we can be entertained and still play among the other also ran clubs outside of that elite or plastics or whatever name anyone wants to bestow upon them.

Course we can call them plastic. If you read through its not about clubs being rich it's about the club's who lack history but have just had money thrown at them. You say we have decent football you are certainly not watching the same games as me. You also say we have decent spends, in this day and age we really have the opposite for a club our size. And who's saying we want the sort of takeover man city have had? All we want is to be taken over by somebody with an inclin of ambition, somebody who can give an actual Fu(k about the club and it's fans, somebody who will actually try and sign a couple of desperately needed players Rafa has been crying out for since he got here.

i remember all the pplastic toon fans who came running back when kk come in

as a player first and then as manager

gates of 15-18 k a week suddenly jumped

    why
because like city etc the owner threw money at the club to try and get success

so please dont try and tell me we are any different

    unfortunatly its their time
    we had ours

do you not think if we had some rich billionaire who started to throw money at us the plastics would stop making excuses and start going to games
    of course they would
    they have in the past

and what recent history do we have

no more or less than city etc

It doesn't need to be recent. History being the key word here.

    Clubs who lack history?
Living in the past does not give you a future.
History is no guarantee for anything.

What is, is now with what you build in the now. History is for memories.
    Let me put it simpler.
Imagine a new town is built. Let's say it's called Jacko.
Over time Jacko builds a population that gains them a football club.
The football club gains a following and manage to win a cup.
Would those fans be plastic just because they don't have any footballing history other than that?

Decent spends is all down to how you wheel and deal.
The trouble is the elites and the followers of the elites (the skirt tuggers) have taken the money game to heights that make a few million sound like loose pocket change to the ordinary fan.
The reality is, it isn't and the best clubs need to wheel and deal for long term security, not short term flirts.

Ambition is one thing but what is ambition in your eyes?
Is it spending enough to break Owen's transfer record and we can be called ambitious....or would a million under it be classed as scrooging?
Or is ambition to ensure we stay afloat at the top league?

I could add in plenty of ambitions but which one fits the narrative?

Its not about what ambition is in my eyes, it's about the actual meaning of the word. The word Ambition means 'a strong desire to do or achieve something' or 'desire and determination to achieve success.' Ashley has no desire to achieve anything with the club. And yeah when you are receiving up to 27 mill for Mitro from Fulham it would be nice to break Owen's transfer record.
