Its our job to develop their players. They are grateful for the millions we added to his value

I don't have an issue with how the Christie loan played out. He had been signed by Deila and was out of the frame under Rodgers and I still think there was a genuine opportunity for us to sign him in the summer. We didn't sign him, he was handed a second chance at Celtic and he took it. He might just as easily have signed for an English club or run down his contract at Celtic without playing.

Morgan is a different scenario and would clearly just be signing for game time. Plus we have too many loans already. And he can't play against Celtic. No thanks.

We shouldn't be loaning players from Celtic, or anyone else in our own league. We should be signing guys like Morgan and Christie before they join Celtic. These are the kind of guys we need to attract and develop if we're going to ever be able to mount a serious challenge. Surely we can make a better pitch to them than Celtic or Rangers can - you could give 100s of examples of promising players who have gone to those clubs and wasted their careers by never getting a game. Shouldn't be too hard a sell to someone like Morgan when he leaves St Mirren to say - come to us, you'll play every week, be a valuable member of the team, be paid more than you currently are, and in 2-3 years time you'll get a move down south for big money once you've gained valuable experience.

Ideally we should be the ones signing these guys - but ironically our loaning of them from Timothy actually makes that harder to achieve.

Why would you come here when you can sign for them on at least double the money and then just get loaned out to the likes of us to get regular games anyway? You wouldn’t.

Loans between teams in the same league should be stopped - and we certainly shouldn’t be loaning players from Timothy as it’s totally self defeating in the long run.

We as a club seem to be missing the obvious issue it causes us & the bigger picture on that though...
