I did not say we should sell him. The point I was making was that IF we sell him as well as a % sell on clause, we should insist on "success" clauses too, so that whoever the buying club is also have to pay additional fees to us if they get promoted, Scott wins a certain amount of caps etc.

For the record, Indon't think we should sell him.

Good to hear. Fans shouldn’t worry about clubs finances, they pay good money to people who do.

Let’s say we get an offer of £6.5m-£7m & accept it.

How much do you think DM would get to buy a replacement(s)?

It’s a serious question, not an open door to slag off Stewart Milne.

What we also need to remember is we’d only get a proportion of it up front, with the rest paid up over the duration of his contract.

In my opinion DM would be lucky to get £500k with the rest going towards the new stadium.

    Big Joe is the replacement.

    £250k spent elsewhere.

I don't know the finances of clubs in Europe but out of my under dog examples im sure Rijeka are a hell of a lot worse off than Dinamo Zagreb after all of their CL monies over their recent dominant times, Leicester well who knows as I have a feeling Engish football is bent as f@ck in terms of financing so who knows what goes on there and I don't care but the did say the team cost 50 m to build. Drop in the ocean to Chelsea and Man City. But I do know first hand about YB as I have had the pleasure of visiting the W@nkdorf and ending up having pre and post game beers with a group of their fans. Basel had straight CL for 8 years prior to YB winning last season in most of which they made the groups . In the previous four**** seasons only FC Zurich were the other winners on three occasions. Basel were signing players ten times the price of what Young Boys were buying. So again I will say they are an excellent comparison to ourselves. One league win in 32 years and they are now on course for a second in a row.
BSC Young Boys spent £5 million on players last year and around £3 million this season.

If we start spending money like that I would expect us to win the league as well.
