A good strong safety, yes, but when you look at the damage that's been done to the Giants by Tight Ends and Slot Receivers over the middle these past few years, well 14 mil a year is hefty.
I love Landon......and I was at Twickenham to see him score in the flesh one of the best defensive TDs ever.
But the Giants did the right thing IMHO.

Just looked at the details, front loaded deal 45 mil guaranteed........payable in the first three years, so it's effectively a three year deal at 15 mil a year if that's right. That's a lot of money for a strong safety, a lot.
Mind, the Skins have previous for paying silly money.....Albert Haynesworth anyone?

Its hard to say, there's been whisperings the giants wanted rid for a while, just cos of the off field distractions, and he's been vocally critical in the media.
Cap is an issue also, in not sure how much dead money thus leaves us with.
I'm under selling cos the trade includes Jibrill Peppers, pretty much a like for like replacement for Collins at strong safety
