These appear to be two completely contradictory statements, 4 months apart.....in the first, bans are rarely due to complaints....in the 2nd, the only two people you've banned were due to "a number of complaints"

Reply to 1 and 2....No idea how much you read on here, Cher, or the effort involved BUT YOU YOURSELF STATED ON 21-5-18...."Am on here less than on the past, mainly because I don't get to matches much now so don't feel qualified to comment on football stuff. Also in the last year, I've lost my Mum, my Mother in law, my other in law has had a very serious illness and I've sold a house and bought a house.
None of that has left much time for posting other than to sort stuff out when complaints come through. That said I don't think anyone has had a major issue about any of the bans - either short term or permanent. I've banned the poster with multiple names multiple times, plus a very few others, that's all.

I very much doubt his ban was for arguing with me. There is no rule against arguing, because if there was and everyone politely agreed the board would be dead in no time. The rules apply to the way you present your argument, and I think that's maybe where Vlad went wrong.

Suggestion, can we have two boards? One for football and one for the non football? Then when we go on the match thread, it's football related and not two people having an argument about non football related matters? Anyone breaching the rule could then be banned? Is this a simple solution to a growing problem here?

It's certainly my preferred option if there's ever a vote. I've never really understood the counter argument against it. It would also be helpful to any new new moderators if there could be separate moderators for the non-footie board. Whoever takes on the job on here is a masochist that's for certain.

I think there's a fine line, it is quite natural for football related topics to descend into an argument about something completely removed from the original subject.
It's like sitting in the pub with your mate, discussing how the football went on saturday and before you know it you are having a heated discussion about if it wasn't for Brexit there'd be more money for local business and Trumps a racist misogynist and you're mates talking cr4p etc . . . only difference is in the pub you can usually diffuse the situation by declaring "your round pal".
Personally if people want to have a go at each other on here then fine so long as it doesn't break the rules I couldn't care less, you either choose to read it or you don't. I tend to read it, usually with a bucket of popcorn!
