    For the lads this must be a massive honour to play for someone like him

    Quite amazing, actually, for someone with his background. You'd have thought an Under-13 team was a bit underwhelming for him, but he sounds genuinely pleased. It demonstrates that our academy does have a very good reputation.

    Chatting to someone who works very closely with Damien Johnson was saying to me, that's also a huge factor into why we didn't let Nuttall or Travis go out on loan. With all due respect to the likes of Fleetwood or Port Vale, they don't have the quality coaches, they don't get the brilliant facilities. Yes they get hardened up by playing big lumps on a crap pitch on a sat, but they are not getting the facilities, the correct level of coaching etc etc ......they are our lads, we want them to nurture with us. It has an excellent reputation, and has generated numerous professional footballers namely with ourselves.
