Big Jim is the answer. Though I didn't remember it, I looked it up.
Look again. Jimmy Combes made his debut v Arsenal in the match after the 3-1 defeat v Cov in 1969.

This goalie did something in his career that might be unique.

St Andrews early 60s. 1-0 down after 4 minutes. Went on to win 7-1. Derek Kevan & Ronnie Allen each got a hat-trick. Epic!

This is a question i've struggled with.

I surprised myself when i thought back and i reckon away at Highbury for the Ipswich FA Cup Semi in 78 was probably my first away match when i was 16.

My dad came from and supported Leeds as did my moron of a brother so although he took me to home games from 1972 he didn't do away games as i often got taken to Leeds matches at Elland rd.

Although Albion were cr ap during that period and Leeds were a great side i never "felt the love" and never contemplated following Leeds.

    I loved The Hawthorns……..i can't explain why.

I was at Coventry for both the 2-4 and the 1-3 defeat. Nizza was in goal for the latter. We had bought Suggett and Hegan in the summer and hopes were high.
I was in the Coventry end for both games.
When we lost 1-3 i started to cry and a City fan said, cheer up lad we have to watch this shyte every week.

Gordon Nisbet. Made his debut in goal never played there again. Went on to make 50+ appearances at full back.

We were big spenders in those days. I think Suggett was only about the 5th £100,000 player and Hegan cost £70k ish.

I was in the home end for one of them and managed to climb a fence to get in the away end. Happy days.

My Bluenose mate came with us to that Highfield Road match, and we had a mooch round Cov City Centre before the game.
Anyway he tried a pair of Wranglers on in one shop and walked out the shop with his trousers over the top of the jeans. (In other words, he shoplifted these Wranglers!)
We had to climb a fence to get in the Away End (same as you, 9Goals)......Justice was done, 'cos BlueNose split his trousers right down the ar se, trying to scale the fence, and he had to throw them in the bin.

All in all, 6 away games (4 in the PL; West Ham twice, Arsenal and C Palace and 2 friendlies; one in Sweden (home &#128521 vs Malmö FF and one in Denmark vs FC Copenhagen).

Last away game? Palace in May.

Last away game in the PL? Palace in May, which means I’m ahead of some and on par with some. 😎

I don't think Mrs SB, would find the same appeal for Rotherham high Street compared to Oxford Street.
