That's what has been reported by the media over here, Sickly... obviously, that does not mean that it is true. Seems a rather bizarre over-reaction if it is true though. Not spotted any tanks on the streets yet, or even any protesters either. Who knows what the government has got planned to make them think that they are going to need the assistance of the army to stay in power. Maybe they have been tipped off that Boris is planning a military coup?

I assume you meant "couch". The envisioned scenario is that the shops will run out of food. This will spark panic buying which will make things worse. Rioting would almost certainly follow.

The Army have not been put on standby for rioting but for Medicne/food supplies to them that need it

Yes, that's the govt. line but it's not what the leaked NPoCC report said. Who decides who needs what and who gets what and where are these deliveries coming from and to and are the recipients standing in an orderly queue? They are planning for riots and there will be curfews enforced by armed troops and looters will be harshly dealt with. But all this may never come to pass.
