OPERATION STAY UP - What form's needed from now on in?

Based on the average of the last 3 League Two seasons, to finish one place above the drop, here's what we need to do:

    Win 10, Draw 16, Goals For = 45, Goals Against = 64, POINTS=46.

We have 39 games left, so to achieve the above & stay up we need to:
Win one game in every four.
Lose one game in every three.
Lose only 13 more games all season.

The above required form means we need to start gaining points at a rate of 1.2 points per game right now and keep it that way. This rate of points gain is the form of a team finishing only 16th in the last three seasons.

In terms of goals scored & conceded:
The last 3 seasons shows one goal scored per game just keeps you up and we are achieving that.
But, more than 1.4 goals per game conceded and you're down. Our goals conceded is currently 3 per game so the stats prove what most are saying about the defence.

So basically what we need to do to stay up is to change our current crap form only to that of a team capable of finishing 16th in League Two. Is that too much of an ask for the owner, team and manager we have?

(As a tiny ray of hope to finish, as few as 35 points would have stayed up in the 2015/2016 season.)

Operation stay up...... you could give them all a pack of Viagra and this lot would still not stay up.

Obviously, this is a concerning situation, but I've seen it many times before where a team that looks like it will never win again suddenly sneaks a win and goes on a run that is almost a mirror image of its previous form. The one thing about being as low as we are at present is that any type of victory would have an exaggerated impact on morale, akin to lifting the lid off a pressure cooker.

The points average quite quickly mounts up , under Kiwomyas terrible start it took until the last game of the season and some seriously talented players in McGregor, Grealish, Vela along with some already decent players who were at the club to get us there.
We need to just hang on til the transfer window and then sign a rugged centre midfielder and a tall robust number nine and keeper.

Think most of our problems stem from two really bad transfer windows.
Nolan s first signed us Bolla and Ameobi who made a massive difference, followed by Yates, Grant and Jones last summer. Even Allessandra and Hawkridge and Brisley strengthened us .
Since then we've had Hussin, Virtue last winter and only Boudwijn looks remotely good enough from this summer's recruitment.

True but after one really bad transfer window AH really shouldn't have trusted the budget to Nolan. We had lost so much momentum by last May, Nolan should really have been sacked and a new man brought in whilst we were not a desperate basket case. Of course, suggesting that on here would have caused outrage, as it eventually still did with these know all ex-pro pundits who thought it was ridiculous to sack him after 5 games when we had reached the play offs.

Are you sure we need to lose one in three?

Whilst not wishing to downplay the terrible start Notts have made, it’s worth glancing at the League table, in particular at the two clubs just above us. Macclesfield with 2 points and Morecambe with three. Both would have been among the pre-season favourites for relegation and neither, I suspect, will have significant resources available for team strengthening in the next transfer window. If things carry on like this, somebody is going to survive this season with 30 points or maybe even less.

The points tally required in that league to stay up fluctuates wildly more so than in any other league so one year you may need 52 points, the next 35 might be enough, I suspect this year it will be around that 35 mark again.

Every team has a bad run in a season, I just think its a good thing to have ours early on in the season, we will come out of it very soon and come March we will be challenging for one of the play-off positions.

Say no more. The talk is all about survival. No one thinks that Notts can recover lost ground and be serious playoff contenders. The club is in crisis and even Hardy's money can do very little to turn this one round.
    Ah, bless, Banjo.
