That's nowt. we were so poor we got our P.E kit from Ex Army Stores. You try playing basketball in a pair of diving boots.

"you were lucky" - we had to do P.E in bare feet and underpants!

I was one who thought Dennis would be an excellent signing. A 20+ a season goalscorer in a relegated team, what could he do in a successful team. What's happened ? How have we destroyed him ? Perhaps he was injured and not yet back to fitness, but more obvious is the total lack of ability in our midfield to create anything. It's been our biggest failing for many years, lack of midfield creators.

I don't like to be personal or brutal because I'm sure the Notts players put a lot of work in to their professions but several aren't showing the required ability even at League 2 level. I watch Worksop Town at tier 9 regularly and the likes of Hewitt, Hawkridge, Jones, Duffy, Alessandro wouldn't currently stand out there, perhaps only on professional fitness.

Good luck Harry with your Stevenage team. Hope there's 11 shiny new rabbits in your hat !!
I wasn't sure about Dennis to be honest. Unless he starts banging in goals for Notts, he's a one-season wonder so far. But he is the type of striker who scores goals and doesn't do much else, so to be effective, he needs chances to be created for him. How many has he had so far? The one he missed against Colchester and the one he scored? There's zero point in buying a goalscorer and then not creating any chances for him.

He's not the type of player that will effect the game much apart from scoring goals. Personally, I would have preferred a striker like Akinde or Stockley - someone who will be a constant menace to defenders even if he doesn't score. Dennis just isn't that player. I hope he doesn't go down as yet another player that Notts manage to ruin, but so far I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise. At this rate I doubt he'll even make double figures.

Dennis and Hemmings both missed the exact same kind of sitter against Colchester and Cambridge - winger gets behind defence, plays ball across goal for a tap-in (except our guys skied them). We’ve failed to create much like that since. These are apparently the kind of “between the posts” chances that Manchester City are always aiming to create - and also like the two Yeovil scored against us, and Stockley’s two for Exeter.

Our leaky defence has masked our attacking deficiencies thus far and chances being created via midfield. In short, we’ve scored one goal in three home games (Stead in the box - the kind of goal Dennis was probably signed for). And in the last few league away games, we’ve scored from two shots outside of the box (Lincoln, Exeter). It also doesn’t help that we don’t have a reliable dead-ball specialist (cue echoes in my mind of “Rayo, Rayo” or images of Ben Davies whipping a ball into the far post area, and occasionally scoring from it) who can beat the first man from a corner or free kick. Or maybe Kellett can if he can ever stay fit for more than 90 minutes?

I feel a bit sorry for Hemmings and Dennis. They just aren't getting the supply they need.

Dennis scored 27 in this league last year. He knows where the net is.

No sympathy from me, both have been a huge disappointment so far. While the service they've had hasn't been great, it's about time the pair of them started making things happen rather than waiting for things to happen.

Yeah, I understand that. Hemmings seems to work hard but have little impact overall. Same with Dennis really. It's a shame as they are both decent for this level, which again shows something ain't right.

Your absolutely right EP. They need to take a leaf out of Mo Salah or Sergio Aguero’s book..get on the ball and terrorise.
