    Andy Thompson came back as a bit of a veteran after having a succesfull career down south. Rowan Alexander done the same. Another was Brian McLaughlin who was near the end of his career after previously being at Celtic. And Stuart Lovell, who was capped by Australia and played at a higher level with Livingston and hibs ended his career with queens after injury forced him to pack in

    Another 'veteran' that I really rated - and still do - was Brian Reid. The big guy's knees were not the best but his positional ability and ariel threat more than made up for a lack of pace. Fatfan named a couple of good ones in Brian McLaughlin and Stuart Lovell. Lovell's cool head at sweeper proved effective for us in the mid 2000's.

    David Lilley is another who returned to the club in 09 late on in his career.

    the one and only the great jimmy robertson returned to queens after being away for a few seasons .
