I've a customer who's grandfather was the goalie for Bon Accord that fateful day.

He wasn't a goalie at all, but when the keeper failed to turn up he donned the jersey and bunnet.

I think it also meant that they played with 10 men.

Of course, he took pelters for it the rest of his life.

I remember playing the Lichties in a friendly in 2012 and in Tutties Neuk after the locals bombarded our bus load with "36-0,36-0"

The moral being, never volunteer to go in goal.

Other plaques? Nae knowledge of any mair.

I assumed that the Heritage Trail would be a map identifying the locations of pitches that the Dons and their antecedents graced. Putting up plaques would be difficult and expensive as The Chanonry, for example is likely to be University of Aberdeen property, and the Trust would, no doubt be told “efutue” by the ither dons.

I propose a plaque be installed on the West end o' Union Street .... North pavement, which should read.....

"Formerly the location of Dons legend Joey Harper's Bar. The hostelry provided a unique and valuable service to the citizens of Aberdeen for a short period between the late 70s and early 80s where it was the only bar on or close to the City's main street where an apparently over 18 year old punk rocker would be served without question or notable suspicion"

.... Yep ... freedom for punk drunkenness - by order of The King!
