    Match Ratings v Stevenage

Fitz - 4.....Still looks shaky, flapped at one or two balls again, possibly should have got a partial save on at least one of their three goals.

Evita - 4.5....Nippy player, especially going forward. Was at fault for one of their goals from a simple floated ball to the back post...easily out-jumped by their scorer

Brisley - 5.....Put in plenty of headers, needs to stay fit and consolidate his partnership with Ward. Good improvement

Ward - 5......Same as Bris. Plenty of headers

Turley - 4.5.....Jeez this guy is HUGE in size, looks like a centre forward instead of a right back. Unlucky to get a knock just before half time.

Enzio - 6.5....Wow, again. Red-hot going forward and put in a decent shift tracking back. Took his goal well, cutting inside again to the corner of the peno box. We've not had a proper winger like this in ages.

Husin - 5.5.....Got a decent ovation from the crowd, who recognised that this was one of his best games alongside Milsom. Must have put in 20 or 30 tackles, needs to improve his distribution.

Milsom - 6.....Superb partnership with Husin. Ran and ran for 90 minutes. We are definitely looking better with him in midfield.

Aless - 6......Superb game, full of running, tracked up and down the wing, busy around the box. Well done.

Stead - 6.....Solid as ever, linked well with Hemmings, held onto the ball well and was the target man for Fitz to try to hit......took his peno well

Hemmings - 6......Worked hard running the channels. Took his goal well

    Subs

Toots - 5....Nice to see him back. Not really a lot to do in the 2nd half

Thomas - Not enough time on the pitch to impress.

Overall - A massive improvement. Bags of energy and enthusiasm. Took the lead 3 times but we simply cannot stop the oppo scoring, which is a worry.
Forget promotion, it ain't happening....we need to stabilise at the back, regain our confidence and aim for a respectable 60 points......we can score goals at will so relegation is not an issue IMO.

Thanks for this, Beechy, but I think you could be courting disaster with that last sentence.

The vast majority of problems come from the keeper. He doesn't claim crosses, doesn't communicate with his defence, doesn't organise and puts the fear of God into the back four. Replace him and it will make a difference

Crickey , I thought Husin was awful. Lewis just shaded Enzio for my MOM , Stead also had a good game . Thought the rest were ok (ish) and a draw was just about a fair result but there was only one team that were gonna win near the end, and it wasn't us.
Thought the Ref had a good game today but he did get one thing wrong, they should defo have had a penalty when that right back who used to play for us was tripped. We were right in line and it looked a peno to me !

Agreed about Aless, Stead and Enzio....all three had excellent games.......Husin though was a huge improvement on some of his recent matches however, and linked well with Milsom IMO.....got a good round of applause when subbed, and decent comments from Stall and Charlie on iFollow....midfielders are notoriously tough to mark, as a lot of their work seems to go un-noticed ie breaking up oppo play by simply getting a toe-end on the ball or just holding up their attacks, something that we have been sadly lacking

Another point in the bag....onwards and upwards....hopefully

That was Husin best game today. He broke up so much of their midfield play, always had a foot and and won most of his 50/50s. I was really happy to see this as he seems to be building a strong partnership with Milsom which is adding a bit of bite to our midfield.

Aless, Stead, Hemmings and Enzio all very good today, with some very promising link up play. Thought the two new guys did well under the circumstances. Ward was ok, Brisley better but not great.

Fitzsimons- 5. Looks nervous Any time the ball goes into the box. At fault for 2nd goal by being indecisive.

Turley-6. Brute of a man that likes a tackle. Bit slow on the turn but gave 100%. Shame he went off as Tootle struggled

Brisley-5. Where's the calm And composed player of last season gone. Won a few headers but looks shaky

Ward- 7. Thought he did well. Made his headers and never got caught out of position. Useful for set pieces

Evina-6. Adds pace to the team. Tried to get forward and link up with winger. Could have done better for 2nd goal

Boldjwin-7. Excellent goal but he has serious fitness issues. Could hardly move with 20 minutes to go. A real assets though with pace and direct style

Husin-6. Worked hard and put in more tackles than usual. Over complicates the play sometimes

Milsom-7. Added some much needed legs and work rate to the team. Picked up a lot of 2nd balls. Welcome back Rob.

Allesandra-8. MOM. Excellent performance! Ran his socks off, put tackles in, carried the ball forward and set up 2 goals.

Stead-7 Again ranhis socks off, linked up play and scored. Lead from the front as captain

Hemmings-6. Linked play well and took goal with composure. Him and Stead are first choice for foreseeable

Evina could have done better for the 2nd. Not to sure what he could have done when a bloke twice his size as the run on him.
