Maybe Shelvey was still unfit and Rondon was jet lagged but were on the bench to try to bring the best out of the players that were on the field. If so this ploy didn’t work as our midfield were terrible and the one chance Joselwho had he headed it straight at the keeper.

So excluding those two players who would you have had on the bench in their places.

Our squad is wafer thin with no cover at all, we used to have 11 purple players (Charnley Terminology) now we have at most 4.

Rondon played against Panama on weds and flew back from Panama City on Thursday afternoon which is a 19 hour flight arriving at Newcastle Friday afternoon !!!!

Ashley likes to try and destroy the reputation of club legends. He tried it with Shearer, Keegan and now he is attempting to destroy Rafa's. It backfired when we finished 10th and now he has done his usual trick and loaded the dice in his favour by selling players and not allowing him the proceeds or a decent transfer kitty for that matter in the summer to ensure failure....again. it demoralises everyone surrounding the club and I fear he has done the job properly this time. He's handicapped the squad good and proper to the extent there is little or nothing left. Even industrial amounts of Mr Sheen may not be enough this season. If we stay up It'll happen again next summer. Forget the standard of football which we all agree is defensive and poor - we know this but theres nothing else our Spanish general can do.

Doubt he was stuck in the cheap seats like the riff raff ... First class all the way .. Sleeping most of the journey in almost a bed .
