Can you imagine 61,000 packed in the Hawthorns?

Although very young, I was lucky enough to be around when that side was in its pomp. We so easily could have done the double in 53-54 but for injuries and the fact that internationals were played on the same day as league games. The other great Albion side in my life time was the late seventies side with Robson, Regis, Brown, Cunningham etc. Unfortunately, they didn't realise their full potential by winning a trophy. Sadly, in this day of billionaire owners and vast amounts of TV money I can't see us repeating these feats, that is unless WE are taken over by some super wealthy owner.

The record attendance was against Arsenal in 1937 when 64,815 packed the Hawthorns.

Possibly but it is no good being taken over by a super wealthy owner if he/she just sees the club as a cash cow, or just doesn’t invest the needed amounts after buying the club.

Yes,53/54 was probably the most successful season ever for West Mid teams as Wolves were Champions and Albion won the Cup,unlikely we will ever see that again !!
