Weird isn't it that we seem to have been inundated with midfielders for several seasons, and yet now we look weak in that area. it's not so much lack of numbers, but too many of the lightweight/creative type and not enough beasts. We need a couple of Paul Hardings!

Thomas and Milsom are both on loan, too. For me, the golden rule about loanees is that you should only ever sign ones you're sure - or as sure as you can be - that they are going to be first choices (ie better than what you already have). Thomas has been a huge disappointment, jogging around in a half-hearted fashion when he's not injured; Milsom makes sense, as does Hall (if he ever recovers from his groin strain). But Keston Davies feels like a complete panic move on deadline day.
Will he be one of those loanees who never actually gets to play for us despite being on a season-long loan, especially as he's cup-tied in the Checkatrade Trophy (he played when Swansea lost 5-0 to Stevenage)?

This is starting to remind me of that season Derry went mad and signed pretty much anyone he could. Then Moniz came in and did the same. Why do we always end up with a bloated squad like this? And why do we still fail to address the obvious problems? For all those players, there's not a single competent keeper or ball-winning centre mid.

I suspect Milsom will be made a pertinent move come January and some players will be be made available its just a matter of Hart & Kewell deciding who, when, how and who might take them.
