I suppose it's up to the individual person. From an outside view, I would agree with you as I wouldn't like to go the full way with current outcomes but being in that position with family and friends around you, it might change. I think that is the problem with the euthanasia debate, you might change your mind but not be in a position to communicate it. Either way, I hope he (and everyone else going through horrible illnesses) gets the support needed
