Firstly, apologies. I should have said that Patty appeared to me to be taking the piss out of the op and the suggested argument. I stand corrected that he was not taking the piss out you personally.

That aside, where have I been provocative on this thread? I am simply asking who these people are that the op and yourself seem to think are all around us, 'socialists waving rainbow flags'? I simply don't see them around us. And certainly none, other than the op and yourself have proposed it on here.

I don't follow why asking this is confrontational. Being confrontational is like calling someone "an idiot". All I'm doing is questioning the thinking behind the op of the thread and suggesting that no one is arguing what the op seems to be suggesting is so awful. Sorry this has upset you.

So the essential component of oppression in modern Britain is poverty and arguably disability. Being gay, black, Jewish or female is totally irrelevant.

Come on Monty you can do better. Yes, many black, gay, jewish, females are not impoverished but ask yourself this question which groups tend to be the most impoverished? I think you will find that certain groups are more prone to poverty and discrimination but, hey ho, we've been here before and maybe this thread is just gonna cover old arguments yet again for the Idiot.

I'm disappointed, roly, as I had hoped you'd grown up and left the gang. However, to return to the actual points at issue, if you have research showing gays and Jews in the UK are more likely to be impoverished than other groups please do share it. I realise I'm risking one of the famour roly yawns but what the heck.
