At the start of every season I am always optimistic that we will be up for promotion, one way or the other by seasons end.
That being said, this season I knew very little of Biesla prior to his appointment and was one of those people that thought we should have given Heckingbottom more time, just because I think everyone should be given a proper chance to shine. Very, very pleased I was so wrong with this one
.
Also when the transfer window closed, I found it all to be a little underwhelming, especially as we were rumoured to have £20 million to spend. We signed only a couple of players ( not including loans) and then sold off Vieira to balance books imo. I had just expected a bit more than that. (obviously what the heck do I know).
Once I read a bit more about Biesla, saw more good articles and comments in the media and from other managers I started to believe that Biesla would be the right fit for Leeds and vice versa. Once the dross started being shipped out with a no nonsense approach, youth players being believed in and promoted, from that point I really believed we could end up having a season to really remember.
I didn't expect us to be doing quite this well, but all the signs are there that this season could be the one - lots of players scoring, clean sheets, dominating possession, winning games by more than 1 goal, standing up to the physical teams and very little noise from the club - we are defo building momentum.
