He collapsed on the bye line right at the side of the Burton goalie and defenders , they raised the alarm .

The players left the field .

Paramedics arrived and gave CPR , blankets were then held to provide privacy and dignity .

The air ambulance arrived at 3.20pm and the man was put in to an induced coma .

The game quite rightly was abandoned at 3.35pm .

Under such circumstances football means nothing .

Hopefully a full recovery will be made and my thoughts are with the man and his family .
OK back to what matters under the circumstances

    Hope the guy is OK

Sorry but the emergency plan looks dodgy to me.
Paramedics were there in seconds, about 8 of them and were responsible for saving the man's life with the CPR in all probability .

Look, this is nothing to do with avatars, left or right, nor anything to do with reading a joke newspaper. It’s to do with a fan in severe difficulty that the emergency services couldn’t get to a specialist hospital in good time. So slow that they had to abandon the match.

I can understand it might take time, but why not give them time then play the match?

Incidents like this statistically will happen in all places where large numbers of people get together. The emergency plan needs to be good enough to cope.

These are not get him to hospital asap incidents , the here and now treatment are what saves lives following a heart attack .

The on the scene paramedics saved his life , the air ambulance staff stabilised the chap and hospital will see to the recovery .

Nobody gave a shiny shyte about the game after witnessing that .
