I understand it because I know you've never really got to grips with numbers (39% is a majority???), but others might not be so aware.

So by conveniently removing the 3 lowest scores, and only one higher....you are somehow proved correct, that 6 is an average of 10? incredible.....I understand that you were never the brightest at school........but you are an arrogant PRICK.

OK everyone, Forum announcement....Elite has decided, by manipulating numbers, that my scores are invalid and should not count.....I'm wasting my time, sorry to have wasted yours

    Wouldn't include 0 but I would include 10.

    p.s. Don't start.

A couple of other ratings for Fitz pinched from another site:

Fitzsimons - 7.5/10 (MOTM) - Positioning still needs work and will come with time. Brilliant saves made and in the second half stopped us from going 1-0 down. Really happy for him today to finally get this clean sheet. Few silly positioning errors but apart from that spot on and looked like the keeper he was last year. Well Done Fitz!

Fitzsimons 7.5 A well organised defence in front of him, Fitz wasn't exposed to a constant barrage of headers / shots from unmarked players. Made a superb save towards the end which gained us the point. Really good to see the support giving him a great ovation at the end of the match. Still a couple of positioning errors but was a confident improvement on recent offerings. MoTM

The real positive is that after a very rough season so far his efforts were fully appreciated by the travelling fans. Good to see and hopefully it will give him the confidence boost he badly needs.

Fitz gets an 8 and MOTM from me. It takes considerable strength of character to put in a performance like that after the sort of run he’s had recently. Hopefully this has been the turning point for him. The reason he doesn’t get 9 or 10, for what I thought was a faultless performance, was that he “only” made two outstanding saves - Northampton didn’t give him the chance to make any more. Giving a goalkeeper 10 would put him up alongside Eric McManus at Derby many years ago, which was the finest performance I’ve ever seen from a keeper.

As for the rest, Turley gets a 7 for his aerial dominance and Hemmings also gets 7 for being our main threat up front. The rest all get 6 for being adequate and hard working.

It might not have been a great afternoon and the outcome was only one point against a side which will probably finish in the bottom half of the table. But the patient seems to have improved slightly so Dr Kewell can claim a bit of credit for that.

Fitz - 5.5....The Fitz-bashers will need to find a different object of derision this week. Two cracking saves, one from the onrushing forward who smashed it hard to Fitz's left...and the other low down to his right on the goal-line from a header.....a superb punch from pressure at a corner added to the best performance from Fitz in a long while.

Tootle - 4......Still not the same player from last season. Looks slow and indecisive by his normal standards....is he fully fit?

Turley - 5......the Hulk did what it says on the tin "head it, kick it"...and if it is still moving "kick it again"

Ward - 5.5.....I'm starting to like this guy....another no-nonsense defender with slightly more "culture" than the Hulk

Evita - 5.....Not really a lot to do in defense but, like Jones, likes to attack down the wing with some lovely overlaps

Milsom - 5.5.....Looks solid in midfield....not too flashy, a lot of sideways passing....could be a great help in getting us some wins if he'd push further forward with the ball though....clearly he's been told to not take any risks.

Husin - 5.....Another player that I'm starting to like....plenty of energy, always looking for the ball but like Milsom, there's no real cutting forward pass to set up Stead or Hemmings.....I'm still not sure that this is the "dead-ball specialist" that we need either......nobody else seems to want to take them though.

Aless - 6 in the first half (bags of running) but disappeared down a rabbit hole for most of the 2nd......5 points over the 90 minutes

Enzio - 4.5 ....IMO his worst game for Notts. Cannot remember him beating his man down the wing, just the one shot from distance in the 2nd....continued with his defensive duties well but I cannot help feeling that if he is not "on his game", we struggle up front.

Stead - 5......Steady Stead....drew loads of fouls for Notts, tried to feed Hemmings into space but to no real effect.

Hemmings - 5.5....terrific workrate and a glorious run and shot that the keeper touched onto the bar....needs more proper through-balls to chase rather than hopeful punts IMO

    Subs

Hewitt - 4.....Way off the pace, two reckless challenges and kicking away the Cobblers free-kick got him a booking...not good.

Summary - I guess it's another point towards the 50, but it's a game that will not live long in my memory.....how far have we fallen when we were bookies favs pre-season, now we're getting a semi lob-on over a clean sheet and a point at Sixfields...strange.
How can you give Evita only a 5? The rendition of Don’t Cry for me Argentina at the final whistle was brilliant!😈

The whole "match ratings" thingy is subjective and down to the interpretation of the individual....someone who has seen the game live, or on tv....it used to be sacrosanct that you were immune from criticism and thanked for the effort!

Nowadays, anything goes.....apparently 5 IS NOT the average of 0 to 10 scoring system despite every mathematical calculation telling you otherwise?......6 apparently means you did ok, laced up your boots correctly, wore the correct shirt and jogged around for 90 minutes without getting sent off for bumming one of the ball boys!

7's is now ok for getting a ****ty 0-0 draw at a club that, according to EVERYONE, is a below-mid-table-team....gawd give me strength.....maybe 8s are reserved for hitting the ball in the right direction? 9s and 10s for actually scoring and we could add 11s and 12s for a performance remotely resembling a pre-season bookies fav team.....Elite will explain the justification for adding 11s and 12s, but ignoring 0s, 1s and 2s....it's called obscurification, he's good at it.

Maybe a "sticky" at the top to explain the "scoring" criteria is in order?........NOTTS, AT BEST WERE COLLECTIVELY, 5 OUT OF 10, with NO PLAYER OUTSHINING ANYONE, Fitz had a his best game in a long while= 5.5 (hardly an outstanding recommendation!....but adequate)......sorry, but that's the truth....IN MY OPINION!!!!!!

I understand Tarquin's logic in five being the average, but I also agree that 6 is an average game. I base my ratings on the football manager games that dominated my young adulthood.

Fitz 8 - great saves to keep us in the game, caught crosses, kicking was alright. Well happy for him! Let's hope he can kick on from here and put the nightmare of the last two months behind him.

Toots 6 - did OK but doesn't quite look like the player of last season

Turley 7 - beast at the back. Won headers, kept it simple, and provided much-needed physicality. I like him so far.

Ward 7 - solid at the back and used the ball well

Evina 7 - solid at the back and decent going forward. Seems reliable than Jones.

Enzio 6 - quiet game by his standards but worked hard. Did well to track back to deny Cobblers a dangerous break

Husin 6 - tidy, hard-working, but not particularly incisive

Milsom 6 - same as Husin. Can't fault his performance, but didn't seem likely to create anything

Alles 7 - seems to have found his position on the wing and is playing his best football since joining the club. I just wish he would run at defenders more instead of always cutting back

Hemmings 7 - tireless up front and nearly scored a beauty

Stead 6 - classic Steady performance from Stead. Nearly scored with a looping header.

    Subs:

Hewitt 5 - not up to the same standard as Husin, but added a bit of physical presence in the middle

Osbourne - not really fair to rate him after a few minutes, but it was great to see the lad get some game time. Also promising that HK is willing to reward decent performances in the ressies with first-team game time.

All in all, a decent point. Now let's build on this with a home win.

If 0 is counted as a number then logically 5 is half-way betwixt 0 and 10, therefore average (or adverage as my maths teacher used to say, ad-verage! From a maths teecher!!). Realistically no player will get a 0 or a 10 but they might, so 5 is still average and 6 is above average.
