A great band with loads of vit ality and energy. Like many young men they were left leaning in their early days although when Strummer matured he saw the folly of Left Wing Politics and wrote dozens of songs for the Mescaleros about how oppressive left wing politics had become.

Ditto Paul Weller: he chucked it in with red wedge when he realised they were just as bigoted as the people they were opposing.
