Neilson is a good candidate. But he is not an outstanding candidate for me. But then again in our current state we arent likely to attract outstanding candidates at present.
Im just glad youre not running the club.

Thing the whole Levein thing is a bit lazy, words like Gomis' kind of tell it's own story, read an article recently where Neilson alluded to it see if I can find it, think it's unfair that he gets tagged like that, only thing Levein would have done is help get signings he wants etc

Nt saying he’s nt an option shedka. We have to get this appointment right. Do we go with a tried and tested manager or take a punt on another young manager.

All I’m saying is neilson did well at hearts under Levien’s tutelage. Bt he is yet to prove that he can do it on his own. Are we the right club for him to shows this, or wld it be a poison chalice giving that he will inherit a squad that has lacked motivation and been bereft of grit and spirit.

Is it a risk worth taken?

As others have said, any appointment is a risk. Wasn’t sure about Neilson at first but coming round to the idea. The Gomis article is interesting and points to qualities such as motivating, man management, attention to detail, that we need and aren’t qualities that are “tutored”, these tend to be inbuilt.
Othes have made good points as well about managers who have not done well in England then returned and done well here.

If I was running the club it wouldn't be me making the decision. I'd have people who knew what they are doing do it.

If i were running the club. I would take down all these inspirational photos of winning things. We cant put pressure on the pure cherubs. Its not the winning but the taking part that counts. Kind regards, Paul Quinn

Could we even begin to compete with what he is on at Preston? I doubt it.

Where this club is at the moment we would be struggling to entice Dick Campbell to leave Arbroath.
