For the sake of all our marriages let's hope Martin makes Terry live 25 miles out with Dundee!

As Wright won't come to us then my choice is McIntyre and Dodds.

I would also employ Cathro in some capacity as the likes of Gould and Armstrong sang his praises as being a important influence in their careers.

Cathro is a first team coach at Wolves and likely earning more than we would pay a manager.

Doubt he'd leave that job for United. Either as a coach, head of youth or manager.

Ellis to given chance to make the manager's job permanent...

Did well last time, is well respected by the players according to many. Again, would be a big gamble!

    He might not want it.

He'd be daft not to give it a try though IMO.

    Big opportunity for him.

I’d be more than happy to give him a couple of games and see how it goes. Last time he took the helms he actually had us playing some good football! Only issue would be that if it doesn’t work it might cost us losing out on the likes of Neilson.

Sometime Ellis may be the best solution, short term to break the cycle we are currently in.

By that I mean a new manager comes in, it's not his team and by the time he can sign his own players the fans have lost patience and are against him.

Of course he'll be given the chance. The idiots in charge at Tannadice are praying that he will get off to a decent start, win the fans over and they wont have to spend a single penny.

The issue is, he may well win his first 2 or 3 games, get the gig permanently then when the inevitable Xmas/New year slump comes, a decent candidate like Neilson will be long gone.

Laurie Ellis has assisted in 2 disastrous regimes and doesn't strike me as having the minerals to be his own man. In fact if he wasn't pals with Ray he'd be nowhere near a club like United.

It's idiotic decision making like this that really drives home how utterly inept our BOD really are!
