    Blocked sink

Upstairs toilet sink won't drain away. Apparently there's debris in the drain under the patio but I drilled a hole in the pipe to try and alleviate the pressure with no joy.

Any plumbers able to advise me why I'm such a spaz and what to do next?

It's not that easy. Every now and then there's an urge to use it.

You drilled a hole in the pipe - are you mad? You'll need a new pipe.

Industrial drain cleaner (sulphuric acid) should clear it, or at least show where the hole is...

Oops, your making a meal of this blocked pipe, why and where did you drill a hole, if you pour a bottle of bleach down the plug hole and leave for a while and then pour a kettle full of boiling water down that should clear the blockage

Something funny here. First, if the blockage is under the patio then I would imagine it would be more than just the upstairs sink that wasn't draining. Second, who decides it is a good idea to drill a hole in a water pipe?

Do you know the names of the previous home owners ?

If their surname's are West, Neilson, Tobin or Christie you might need more than a plumber to help you out.

A full bottle of Aldis bleach unblocks anything.

My wee man chocked up my toilet with a full packet of wet wipes. For days i tried heaps of tricks from the net. Full bottle doon the pan. Went to Pittodrie, came back, flushed, job done.

Worked on the sink a couple of times at my old hoos too

We lived in the country for a while.

I can still see Mrs Donsdaft pulling the dead rat out of the drain*

Hey! now we're getting adverts for dyno-rod drain cleaners ( or whatever)

Maybe I'll just rent out Mrs Donsdaft

At least she wouldn't drill a hole in a pipe.
