If he stays fit he should score goals in this division.....Confidence after a break usually puts a dampener on things for a while...
With how quickly games come in this division another squad player is a good move.....

Welcome and good luck to him whilst he dons the Albion shirt.

I cannot figure out if these short term deals are a good or bad thing for us. They could point to a serious long term cash flow problem, or it could be clever in that we'll have more to spend if we do go up as less players will be on the books.

Hopefully, it's the latter and dowling and Co can sign the required quality if we go up or if we stay down.

All these free signings way after the closing of the window smacks of very bad preparation given we knew of relegation a long time before it was confirmed.

The issue as I see it BB, is that most players see themselves as Premier league players now even if their club gets relegated. Which means it is even harder to sign a decent player if you have just been relegated....They are all just so fantastic now....they really cant be bothered dropping down a league unless some would rather just play football and go out on loan....But many would rather pick up a nice wage and stay in the reserves or even further down the pecking order...
I think the short term loan dels are the natural way forward......for football..

We can’t rely on the fitness of Phillips or Barnes doing so well over a full season so I think this is a good move.

All this “he played for the s h I t” type stuff doesn’t bother me,plenty of players have left us and done well at Wolves.

As long as he does it for us then I’ll be happy.

It’s tossers like Goodman who decide to forget they ever played for us yet we actually “made” them and got them their big move etc.
I said exactly the same to him when I saw him
I told him he comes across so anti Baggies on the TV and that I used to love him as a kid
He didn’t agree but did later say he left in quite sour circumstances which may be the reason
Amazing what a few pints do isn’t it ??

Funnily enough I saw Goodman last week at grand Central Station but couldn't be bothered to go over to him as I'd read on here that he was basically Dingle Don now.

I haven't read or listened to anything he does so I haven't been witness to his veering to the dark side.

Having said that he was at Stourbridge snooker club in the early 90's with Adrian Foster and he was fine to talk to then. I can't recall any bitterness when he left as we made a massive profit on the 50k we paid Bradford and we needed the money. If he left in bad circumstances then it explains why he doesn't ever get mentioned pre match at home games, so they'll probably just post him a tatters cap when his turn comes around.

A player changes his allegiance......big deal. I doubt Goodman ever described himself as an Albion fan. I know Bomber was an avid Man. U. fan and Darren Moore was a Blues fan.
Not every player who plays for a club becomes a fan of that club.

It doesn't bother me one iota if we sign a player from Villa, Wolves etc. as long as he does the business for us. I think that Sacko will be a good addition and excellent cover for Barnes and Phillips. The strength of any side is what they have as back up. Many teams have a good starting X1 when fully fit but it's the teams that can call on good squad players when injuries and suspensions kick in that are the most successful.

The strange thing about Goodman is he played more games and scored more goals for us than any other club he played for.
Sod him anyhow the nob rot.
As for Sako great signing, doesn't look like we are bothering about the defence though this season. Bit of a change from previous seasons.
