Well if this is a euphemism for 'We've sacked our recruitment team and we're going to appoint someone who actually knows what he's doing', I'm all for it.

But whose interests will he be serving, the manager who wants to put the best possible team on the field, or the Board who want to 'ensure the financial stability of the club', as they would put it ? There seems to be a conflict between the two at the moment.

And I wonder how much this will cost extra over a season, and how much extra the Board were unwilling to pay for incoming transfers?,...I would imagine about the same..So in hindsight we are where we were ,before the Transfer window opened.,...But our board wasted almost a quarter of a season ,..Before our Board woke up!!
    Stinks of desperation to me.

Any idea of the job description?

Could be anything from technique of the players to looking after the website.

well jon....you mean to say, they'll be costing Burnley a packet of number 6 + a bottle of Bristo Cream -

as I read it from the LT link: It is understood the technical director will have a major role in recruitment at Turf Moor.

a major role ?....thats interesting - and as barrie - an exact job description would be nice...but as I understand it - they'd be there to moderate proceedings - keep the kids in check etc.

    .

and Sky also reports - with crumbs -Sean Dyche...........will work closely with the new TD, but will still report directly to the club's chairman, Mike Garlick.

    https://www.skysports.com/football/n...backroom-staff

what does that mean - the TD won't report to Garlick - he/she will report to Dyche - they'll both report to Garlick separately....or, or ....or ?

    whats the point.

What exactly is a technical director FFS? Could be the tea boy-that is quite technical.

Technically speaking CiB the technical director looks after the technical stuff, the ground's audio system, the electrical wiring at all the venues we own, CCTV cameras etc, etc. On the side, for a bit of extra beer money, he or she might also look at recruiting a couple of twenty million pounds plus players to add to the squad, because he might be better at that than our recruitment team.

Could you possibly make this shoite up?
