    Ivor broadis

Nice to see our former player Ivor Broadis on Border TVs Lookaround tonight receiving the Freeman Award for the City of Carlisle where the London - born, England's oldest living international (95) has lived for many years.

Great story in today's D. and G. Standard about a lady in Thornhill who after seeing the programme suddenly realised
that in her attic was an English International shirt belonging to Ivor that she had been given a loan of to play in a charity game to raise funds for Closeburn Gala in the 1960s. The lady then travelled to Ivor's home near Carlisle to return the
shirt to the 95 year old who was absolutely delighted as it was the missing one from his 14 England shirts collection.Three
of the goals he scored in 3 appearances against Scotland were in two games in which George Farm was the Scottish goal
keeper and who later became his manager at Queens in 1960 - 61.
