those 2 be the easiest to get to sign.

it's Newell and aj we need to get penned down the better quality players of the squad.

    Not fussed on Newell staying.
Squad player on reduced salary maybe
Way too inconsistent and need someone who makes an impact on a regular basis

Undoubtedly Ajayi as he is our most prized asset and will only get better. Not so sure about Newell, flashes of brilliance but not a 90 minute man. Seems to be tiring a lot of late and the season's only just started.

Agree brin Newell better as an impact player can't doitfor90 mins.

Looks like procs and Smith can leave if we go down by the way which is a worry.

    Good news.
I'm not too bothered if Newell goes because he's incapable of playing 90 minutes and is at his most effective when he comes on with 20 minutes to go.
Ajayi and Williams are the two I would also like to see get extended contracts.

A microphone each would have made the interview a lot more professional, can we get the buckets out for a collection for another microphone please?.

so if we go down they can leave.

what's the point giving them 3 and 4 year contracts than

    Get Williams signed up too.
Personally I'd like to keep Joe Newell. One of three or four of our own players who has genuine Championship quality. A bit hit and miss but always has been. Although I think the chances of getting Ajayi, Williams and Newell to all extend their contracts are slim to none.

Money mate you see it all time with strikers long ass contracts and when clubs come in for them the club who has them has a better chance at getting more money.

Itís about time we started doing this if you ask me

I want vaulks ajayi newell and towell to sign contracts

but if we go down they have a stipulation that they can leave.

so were is the bargaining power gone?

it's in there contract they can go and we can't stop it.

just hope it's a decent fee that triggers the release clause.

Waste of money giving proctor a long contract. Not seen anything from him that says he's better than league 1 STD.
Is this our ambition? Shakes head

If I, the Grumpster, were negotiating the relegation clause it would be something along the lines of:

IF the club is relegated then the club has the option to invoke a reduction in the players salary (the reduction will be detailed in percentage terms). IF, and only if, the club invokes said clause then the player is free to sign for another club (possibly subject to a minimum release transfer fee, which wont be viewed by the agent as unrealistically high).

It could be the only way that RUFC can entice players to accept relegation pay cut clauses.

In summary, both parties are mitigating against potential loss of income resulting from relegation.

I suspect the above will be what has happened.

If my assumption is correct and the club really wants to keep the player following relegation then they simply have to continue paying the championship wage.

Then again, knowing our lot, we've probably just said "aye, no worries pal, if we go darn that can clear off for nowt!"

Why is he completely knackered after about 60 minutes?

    Something not right there.

I hope he's had all the tests for congenital heart problems.
