Thread: Souttar

    Souttar

Skilful as he is - he still likes a brainfart!!

And even though Levein is a legend he is wrong - he is a sweeper or midfielder or mid of a back 3 not a central defender. I said that 5 years ago.

    Disagree, definitely a CB

Has been excellent there for Hearts, a brainfart tonight doesn't change that

The thing tonight is McLeish not changing things when its clear the system wasn't working first half and a goal was coming a mile away, also his line of playing that hopeless ex funster McDonald as a sitting midfielder

Joke from McLeish, hopeless Israel side on a terrible run and he watched us being battered and made no adjustments until it was too late

yeah aside from souttar it was clear in 1st half we were pants and nothing. The largs school of football!!

He may be able to play CB but in a back 3 or sweeper thats his position and will be when he moves down south. Back 4 - no chance in my book. Opinions and all that.

Yes I very much disagree, he plays excellent in a back four for Hearts and was even decent when younger for us in a backfour beside Gunning in 2013/14

Not good enough from McLeish, that's a very poor result and performance against poor opposition who have been on a losing streak

He was an absolute certainty to get sent off trying to play in a back 3 after his early booking.

The last 2 games I’ve watched (Ayr & tonight) have been embarrassingly woeful. Totally disillusioned especially after tonight. Up against a team that’s only beaten Lichtenstein in their last 10 games completely outplayed us (even when it was 11v11)

    Can things get any worse?

Hopefully Robbies appointment will be the start of an upwards trend.

Souttar is not the reason we lost, he is a very good CB for Hearts who are solid side defensively generally

It's the whole setup tonight was wrong, the shape wasn't working abs the selection wasn't great, why play Kevin McDonald as a holding midfielder away from home, he is hopeless defensively etc

    McLeish gtf

no he is a part of why we lost - your arrogance wont let you see that. Not the biggest part though.

No doubt it'll be our fault he got sent off.

Arrogance by totally disagreeing with your thoughts on Souttar?

You have a weird dislike of Souttar like some of our fans that makes no sense, was gutted we lost him to hearts, Levein thinks he is a centre back and i'll trust his judgement as he knows a player, it's been proven correct as he has been excellent there for two seasons beside Berra last season and now this season without Berra in a back four

He will be part of a Scotland defence for years to come and serve us well, we need to get it right management wise
